The preceding chapters have covered topics such as accessing the VMware Infrastructure (VI) Web Access management interface by manually invoking a browser and entering a specific URL. Also covered has been the process of first logging into the VI Web Access interface before launching the VMware Remote Console in order to interact with a guest operating system running within a virtual machine. In both cases access can be made more efficient through the use of web and desktop shortcuts.

This chapter will cover the use of VI Web Access to generate web and desktop shortcuts to both the VI Web Access management interface and to individual virtual machines.
