Guest Operating System Virtualization
As outlined in the above diagram, the guest operating systems operate in virtual machines with in the virtualization application which in turn runs on top of the host operating system in the same way as any other application. Clearly, with these levels the multiple layers of indirection abstraction between the guest operating systems and the underlying host hardware this approach is are not amongst the fasted conducive to high levels of virtualization solutionsvirtual machine performance. It This technique does, however, have the advantages that no changes are necessary to the either host or guest operating systems and no special CPU virtualization support is neededrequired.
